Maps

The following maps are large files and will take a few minutes to load with a dial – up Internet connection. Most of the maps are provided in PDF format to allow for greater detail and added features. PDF documents required that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader Installed on your computer to view the files. Most new computers already have Acrobat Reader Installed. If you need Reader, or would like the latest version, you can download and install the program at no charge by clicking HERE.
Acrobat Reader will allow you to print high resolution maps and has a “magnifier” tool to allow you to zoom in on your area of interest. If desired, Acrobat will print the “current view” to provide a map only of the area of interest. Just click the “Current View” bottom in the Print Range section when printing.
Land use map: The purpose of this map is to provide a guide for future growth and development. It helps to ensure that Somerton’s growing population will have adequate housing, employment and recreation opportunities in the future.

High Density Residential

Mixed use developments; residential is permitted only when retail/office is on the lot

C-1

Limited Commercial

No single establishment may exceed 6,000 sq. ft; restaurants, retail stores, child care or nursery facilities, offices

General Commercial

All uses permitted in C-1; automobile sales, rental or repair, gas station, hardware store, hotels, nursing homes, RV Sales

L-1

Light Industrial

Residential and commercial uses are prohibited; manufacturing, heavy equipment sales, warehousing

H-1

Heavy Industrial

Every use permitted in L-1, cabinets manufacturing, fertilizer mixing and distribution, junk yard, recycling collection center

In order to share Somerton’s Mapping Information with its residents and business community, the City of Somerton is offering other maps to the general public. Since there is a cost with preparing and printing GIS maps, people who request them will pay a small fee.
