Somerton Centennial Celebration

Somerton was established in 1898 and incorporated in 1918. This year, 2018, Somerton is celebrating 100 years of being incorporated as a city. Located in the fertile Yuma Valley in southwestern Yuma County, Somerton is about 12 miles south of Yuma and 180 miles east of San Diego, at an elevation of 103 feet. It is equidistant from the California and Mexican borders. Somerton is the native region of the Cocopah Nation with seven different entertainment, lodging, and cultural attractions

Somerton PetPalooza

The City of Somerton is proud to announce the 7th annual Petpalooza event is taking place on February 3rd, 2018. Petpalooza is our community's way of celebrating the health and well-being of our furry friends. There will be vaccinations at low cost, microchip and multiple contests with prizes that promote the happiness of our pets

Cocopah Nation

Somerton is the native region of the Cocopah Nation which is a large employer with seven different entertainment, lodging and cultural attractions: The Cocopah Casino, The Cocopah Resort & Conference Center, The Cocopah Rio Colorado Golf Course, The Cocopah Museum, Cocopah RV and Golf Resort, Cocopah Speedway and Wild River Family Entertainment Center. The Cocopah Nation holds many events throughout the year.
